In the summer of 2023, I completed a 300-credit hour internship with the Drayton Hall Preservation Trust. The primary goal of my internship was to propose sites for the enslaved dwellings that would have existed on the property. Using 3D models of the dwellings built in AutoDesk Revit and mapping in ArcGIS ArcPro, I proposed three potential sites for the dwellings. My other duty while at Drayton was staffing the Stephen J. Wood Conservation Lab. This space is shared by the archaeology and preservation departments at Drayton, providing a space for visitors to get better acquainted with the work done by those departments. During my time staffing the lab, I talked to visitors about the latest archaeological finds excavated and cleaned by the archaeology team, preservation work done in the house, and my enslaved dwellings project. I was able to project my screen onto the TV in the lab as I worked, which helped facilitate discussions with visitors about the enslaved people who lived and worked at Drayton and the spaces they may have occupied.
