In the fall of 2021, students in Dr. Andréa Livi Smith’s HISP 405: Advanced Methods in Historic Preservation class at the University of Mary Washington performed a cultural resource survey of the College Terrace neighborhood in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Seven teams collected archival information and surveyed the 279 properties in the neighborhood in order to determine the eligibility of the neighborhood for the National Register of Historic Places. Team One, consisting of myself, Jacob Czerwonka, Elijah Hanisian, and Kelly Pedigo, created this report to share our findings. I was responsible for the graphic design and layout of the report as well as “Chapter Four: Recommendations.” Jacob Czerwonka wrote “Chapter Two: History” and choose the images for the chapter, Elijah Hanisian created the maps and wrote the Executive Summary and “Chapter One: Methodology,” and Kelly Pedigo wrote “Chapter Three: Analysis” and made the graphs and charts.
